Mutiny on The Northwestern! Three captains featured on the hit Discovery Channel adventure series Deadliest Catch are bailing out on the show in a fit of fury that could send the docu-drama sinking to The Television Graveyard.

Capts. Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand, who are in the middle of a lawsuit with the network, as well as Capt. Sig Hansen formally resigned from the reality show on Wednesday. The crab fisherman tell The Hollywood Reporter they are “unable” to continue on the hit adventure series due to the litigation. Discovery sued The Hillstrands for $3 million claiming they failed to show up to finish work on a spinoff series that was to be called Hillstranded.

“We have been through a lot over the past year and unfortunately given the current situation with Discovery we are unable to continue participating in Deadliest Catch,” the departing crab-catchers said in a joint written statement issued this afternoon. “It has been a fantastic ride, and we wish the best to all of the amazing and supportive Catch fans we have met over the years.”

The surly Captain Phil Harris died earlier this year. After today’s departures, Deadliest Catch is down to just three captains.

Discovery has refused to comment on the mutiny.

The seventh season of the series is set to begin filming in October.
