Golden Voice is back on The Good Stuff.
In news that will surprise absolutely no one, Ted Williams — the troubled homeless man with the voice of an award-winning radio announcer — has checked himself out of a Texas treatment center just two weeks into a 30-day trip to rehab.
Ted is headed back to California this afternoon after he left the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas — against the advice of counselors — early Monday. Williams had been detoxing from a 25-year addiction to alcohol.
Ted was discovered when Columbus, Ohio reporters uploaded audio/video of hia “Golden Radio Voice” online earlier this month, turning Wiliams into 2011′s first viral sensation. Job offers from the Cleveland Cavs, Kraft, and even The Oprah Winfrey Network. But the Cinderfella story was shortlived; everything came crashing to a halt when Ted threatened to pull open a can of Whoop Ass: Extra Strength on one of his nine children during an altercation in a Los Angeles hotel. That’s when television head shrinker Dr. Phil called in the big guns, forcing a not-so-sober-after-all Ted to take a Chill Pill — sans Whiskey — at Origins.
