Dick Clark may have hair-whipping preteen Willow Smith, but MTV’s got Snooki!
On Wednesday, executive producers for Jersey Shore announced that the tanned tangerine-hued cast of MTV’s most-watched program will be playing a major role in the network’s New Year’s Eve festivities. MTV says it plans to put Shore guidette Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi inside a ball that will drop in New York’s Times Square — perhaps the busiest place on Earth on Dec. 31 — to ring in 2011 as part of its MTV New Year’s Bash celebration
Comedian Whitney Cummings will host the hourlong special, set to air from 11 PM to midnight New Year’s Eve, according to the network. Cummings will be joined by rapper Flo Rida and the cast of Jersey Shore, who will recap the year in entertaiment and lead the Manhattan crowd in a collective fist pump in hopes of setting a Guinness World Record for the Most People Fist-Pumping in One Place at the Same Time.
Jersey Shore Season 3 premieres in January.
