The project is described as a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics superheroine which Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince — plays a vigilante crimefighter in Los Angeles, but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

We just hope 2011′s Wonder Woman still boasts bullet-deflecting cuffs and the strength to whip cars across the street!

The hunt is now on for the actress who will succeed original Wonder Woman Linda Carter as the newest incarnation of the caped wonder. Wonder Woman isn’t the only ’70s crimefighter getting a modern-day makeover. ABC recently hit the greenlight on a remake of its classic action series Charlie’s Angels.
