IM Global has announced plans to remake the Thai thriller
13: Game of Death (also known as
13 Beloved),
Deadline reports. Daniel Stamm (
The Last Exorcism) has signed on to direct the English-language version, which will be known as just
13.
Released in 2006, the original film was based on a short comic book story entitled “13th Quiz Show”. The plot revolves around a musical instrument salesman who finds himself caught up in a deadly underground game show where he must complete 13 tasks in order to win. Though the tasks begin simply enough (his first is to kill a fly), they quickly grow more and more dangerous and degrading.
