A restricted release of Raavan in Karnataka

Mani Ratnam’s new film Raavan will be released in a restricted manner in only few theaters in Karnataka. An announcement to this effect has been made by Vasant Kumar Patil, present of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. Apart from Hindi, the film is also in Tamil.

The film will be released only in 24 theaters in Karnataka following the policy to allow only limited release of non-Kannada films in a stipulated number of theaters.

Release of both versions of the film is scheduled for June 18 by Big Cinemas which has said that since Raavan and its Tamil version were made at vast costs and there is a different cast, the Chamber should allow the release in 48 theaters or more in Karnataka.
