A small crew did the trick for Karate Kid

New film Karate Kid has instantly become a huge hit at box office when it was released recently. But the success goes to the approach regarding making the movie, which stars Jackie Chan and Will Smith and kid Jaden, a martial arts enthusiast.

Director of the movie Herald Zwart said that he wanted to treat it as a new film and not as another version of the old film. He wanted to make an independent movie with a huge scope.

He said that he cut the size of his 600 member crew on many occasion in order to be one with the places of shooting in China and that did the trick for the movie. He just wanted to make a small film without much extravaganza.
