More American people have now their blood pressure more under control. According to a study, control over blood pressure of the US people is now 27 percent more as compared to two decades back.

Still, the researches have found out that the need for improvement and prevention of high blood pressure is much more as overall as its rate has not changed in past years. Blood pressure, or hypertension, was declared by the Institute of Medicine as neglected disease. As a result of high blood pressure, U.S has to spend $ 73 billion a year.

The research team has said that the cases of high blood pressure fell slightly in white people, black people continued to have the disease in the same numbers and so was the case with Hispanics.

The study says that high blood pressure can be easily prevented by diet control, exercise and drugs. Still, the disease has become second-leading cause of death in the U.S.
