Charlie’s found his first “Angel.”

Sudster stunner Annie Ilonzeh –- best known for her role as Maya Ward on ABC’s popular daytime drama General Hospital — has been tapped as the first of three female leads for the new pilot Charlie’s Angels, Entertainment Weekly said Thursday.

Annie will appear in a modern-day remake of the groundbreaking ’70s action series that launched the careers of Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and the late Farrah Fawcett. ABC has purchased the rights to the show, which will be produced by Sony Pictures TV and Flower Films — and company owned by Drew Barrymore, who appeared in film versions of the show in 2000 and 2002.

The new series, set in Miami, will follow three sexy female detectives – Kate, Abby and Marisa – who work for a wealthy mystery man, voiced by Robert Wagner. Dynasty star John Forsythe lent his voice to the Charlie character in the original Angels.

Annie will reportedly play Kate, a former police officer, described as a smart and athletic martial arts master.

In addition to her work on General Hospital, Annie has also appeared in The CW’s Melrose Place, HBO’s Entourage, and CBS’ How I Met Your Mother.

Charlie’s Angels is set for a Fall 2011 premiere.
