A mentally-disturbed man convicted of stalking reality personality Audrina Patridge was sentenced to 24 months in a California State Prison on Thursday.
Zachary Loring, an unmedicated paranoid schizophrenic, was arrested in February after knocking on the door of Patridge’s Hollywood Hills home while carrying a knife in his backpack. Loring, 25, also handed Audrina a packet of letters that included a drawing of a woman being strangled. Patridge, also 25, later told authorities that she considered Loring a threat to her life. Just before the case was set to go to trial, Loring pleaded no contest to a stalking charge in Los Angeles Superior Court.
In addition to his jail term, Loring was also ordered to stay 500 yards away from Patridge and her residence for the next 10 years. Despite the two year sentence, Loring could be released in a matter of just a few months, after being given credit for time already served in custody and good behavior, court officials say.
