The Bat-Signal has been lit: Production on “Batman vs. Superman” has started in Michigan.

According to a local news affiliate, residents of Metamora Township, Michigan have reported seeing production crews hard at work on a makeshift set on the grounds of a former Girl Scout camp, building what they describe as a house. The Michigan Film Office website lists just one ongoing film project slated for Metamora, director Zack Snyder’s (pictured) still-untitled “Man of Steel” follow-up.

Residents who live near the film site say that they received a letter late last year notifying them of a “temporary project” taking place on the grounds, and the local NBC affiliate confirmed with the production company that filming has not yet completed there. “Temporary” is the key word here, since whatever is being built at the site is set to be demolished once filming has wrapped.

That doesn’t give fans a ton to go on in terms of plot (exactly what is being shot on such a bare bones location?), though we imagine locals will have plenty to report once cameras start rolling and actors actually appear on set.

“Batman vs. Superman” hits theaters May 6, 2016.
