Deadline reports that Ben Affleck is the man Warner Bros. is eyeing to adapt and direct The Stand, another adaptation of Stephen King’s famous tome, except this time, it’s headed to the big screen.
Affleck is currently helming Argo, so The Stand movie is in its infancy. The actor has certainly proven himself in the director’s chair with Gone Baby Gone and The Town.

Previously adapted as a television miniseries in 1994, “The Stand” tells the story of a full-scale apocalypse, driven by the accidental release of a biological weapon and the ensuing struggle of good versus evil carried out by the world’s final survivors.
