Leggy lovely Blake Lively is set to become the new face of French fashion house Chanel after impressing the brand’s tough-as-nails creative director Karl Lagerfeld with her style-forward approach to fashion.
The Gossip Girl beauty has enjoyed a close friendship with the German-born Lagerfeld, who catapulted supermodel Claudia Schiffer to the top of the fashion scene in the ’90s. He guest-starred on her CW drama earlier this season, and in July, she was in the front row of the Chanel Haute Couture show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
Lively will appear in a new campaign for Chanel’s tony handbag collection which was snapped by fashion photogs in Paris last week.
The campaign is set to launch early next year.
