Carrie Fisher, as Remembered By Her Friends and 'Star Wars' Family

Carrie Fisher is gone, but she certainly won’t be forgotten. An outpouring of genuine affection from her coworkers and friends has poured forth in the wake of her unexpected death, reflecting on her indomitable spirit and good cheer in spite of the challenges she faced in her personal life and professional career.

Her Star Wars family, both longtimers and newcomers, responded with love.

“Carrie holds such a special place in the hearts of everyone at Lucasfilm it is difficult to think of a world without her. She was Princess Leia to the world but a very special friend to all of us.”

As we’ve noted, Fisher completed her work as Leia Organa on Star Wars: Episode VIII before she passed away, though it’s far too early to know how Lucasfilm will handle her prospective role in Star Wars: Episode IX, which doesn’t even begin shooting until 2018.

Fisher’s voice will also be heard on two new episodes of animated TV series Family Guy, per Variety. She was featured as brewery supervisor Angela (above) on Seth MacFarlane’s comedy in some 20 episodes in the past. Broadcast dates have not yet been decided.

She was in London last week to shoot an episode of the Amazon series Catastrophe, according to Deadline, in which she will appear once again as the mother of the character played by Rob Delaney. The show will air sometime in 2017.

A documentary about the actress and her mother, Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, debuted at Cannes last May and has been playing the festival circuit. It’s scheduled to air on HBO in 2017.
