Cate Blanchett still wants to star in ‘Cancer Vixen’—the graphic novel she optioned by Marisa Acocella Marchetto when it was published in 2006.
Marchetto, the self-described “shoe-crazy, lip stick-obsessed, wine-swilling, pasta-slurping, fashion- fanatic”, wrote the book about her battle against breast cancer as she falls in love with and marries restaurateur Silvano Marchetto.
However, the option expired, leaving the project in limbo.
And now, Celine Rattray, of the recently released ‘The Kids Are All Right’ fame, has bought the rights for Mandalay Visions.
“If anyone can get it made, Celine can,” the New York Post quoted Marisa as saying.
“Cate Blanchett is passionate about it and wants to do it. We are actively looking at directors,” he added.
