CBS is getting out of Emily Maynard’s way.

The network is pushing the premiere of its new dating reality show 3 by one week and avoiding ABC’s Bachelorette finale.

The CBS series, which chronicles the lives of three very different single women who come together with the common goal of finding true love, was set to debut July 22. But after ABC made the unprecedented move of shifting its three-hour Bachelorette bonanza to the same Sunday night, CBS is now moving 3 to July 29.

Obviously, regardless of the merits of 3, it would have been awfully tough to draw female dating reality show viewers on the same night as the Bachelorette finale. Wonder if ABC will now double down and schedule a second After the Final Rose special for the following week? Why, it could become a Herman Melville-like chase around the schedule!
