Charlie Sheen Took Steroids Before Filming ‘Major League’

Normally, it’s actual athletes that are taking steroids to bulk up, not actors playing athletes.

Charlie Sheen has just admitted in a new Sports Illustrated interview that he decided to take performance enhancers for his role as Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn in ‘Major League.’

“Let’s just say that I was enhancing my performance a little bit. It was the only time I ever did steroids… I did them for like six or eight weeks. You can print this, I don’t give a f–k. My fastball went from 79 [miles-per-hour] to like 85.”

Hit the jump to see what else he had to say about playing one of the most iconic sports characters in movie history.

Sheen went on to say that he quit the drug after losing control of his temper. While on steroids, he almost got into a fight at a bar after some patrons were making fun of the wacky haircut he got for the role: “I didn’t like the haircut because it generated so many comments in bars. I’ve got enough of that already. Add that to the mix, and it’s a recipe for a fistfight,” he says.

Does Charlie Sheen’s steroid use change your opinion of ‘Major League’?
