Kathie Lee Gifford’s son is joining his famous mom at The TODAY Show family. Cody Gifford is the new movie reviewer on NBC’s morning gabfest.

For the next six weeks, Cody well spend his Friday mornings adding his two cents on cinema blockbusters and epic stinkers throughout the summer. The 20-year-old sophomore is a film major at the University of Southern California, who hopes to step behind the camera as a director upon earning his degree. According to TVNewser.com, Cody will be “reviewing movies for his mother’s fourth hour.” So far, Cody Gifford has rated Toy Story 3 as “definitely a winner.” Sex In The City 2 and Jonah Hex received less than impressive enthusiasm.

Well, he’s got good taste in animation.

“It’s a great summer internship,” Cody says, adding that he doesn’t think “I could have asked for a better one.”

“[Cody] is not being paid, he’s an intern . . . I think we’ll let what he does speak for itself,” says TODAY executive producer Jim Bell. “Is he getting an opportunity here? Yeah, but so be it. We like him and he’s a smart kid and a good kid.”
