Dan Trachtenberg, the commercials director who recently released the short fan film “Portal: No Escape”, is set to direct
Crime of the Century at Universal Pictures.
Deadline has the news, saying that project is based off an idea from he and screenwriter Daniel Kunka.
Little is known about the specifics of the film’s plot, though it is said to be a heist film with science fiction elements.

The film will be produced by Chris Morgan, who has recently taken a turn to producing after successful screenplays like Wanted and Fast Five. Kunka, meanwhile, is best known for writing 12 Rounds and the upcoming Agent OX.
