The husband of reality star Tori Spelling is in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles-area hospital after suffering a punctured and collapsed lung in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday.
Dean McDermott, 43, was dirt biking with two friends near his LA home when the bike he was riding was involved in a collision. The actor was left bloody, badly bruised, and unable to move after the accident. Dean regularly spars with wife Tori over his motorcycle obsession on their Oxygen reality series, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. Fans of the couple’s show, know that Dean’s love for cycles has often been a point of contention for the couple. Earlier this year, McDermott fractured his shoulder in another motorcycle accident. Tori hopes the latest crash will curb Dean’s obsession with the high-octane hobby.
“He’s in a lot of pain,” says Tori, who has been by her husband’s side since the crash. “At first I was mad. I was pissed that he was out biking and crashed. But when I showed up and saw him lying there, and they told me they were admitting him to ICU with a collapsed lung, my heart dropped. My biggest fear had come true.”
McDermott is will remain in the ICU for the next several days and is expected to make a full recovery.
