Well, you knew it was coming: Is Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively The Other Woman at the center of the Ryan Reynolds/Scarlett Johansson split?
The dust has barely settled on the Reynolds/Johannson bust-up and already we’re getting theories on where it all went wrong. On Tuesday, the couple announced that they were putting themselves back on the market after a year-long courtship that ended with a wedding in Sept. 2008.
“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” the couple said in a joint statement. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
Whispers suggest Scarlett, 26, was the one who wanted the break, after things got tense due to the massive amount of time the pair spent apart, thanks to their busy acting careers. Now Tinseltown spywitnesses suspect Ryan may have been doing the dirty behind Scarlett’s back with his Green Lantern co-star Blake Lively, who just last week was rumored to be dating the hotter Ryan – Ryan Gosling. Ry, 34, and Blake, 24, grew close while filming the comic book blockbuster in Louisiana earlier this fall.
Don’t believe the hype, says E! News. Blake may be one of the world’s freshiest fashion icons, but she’s no Angelina.
“There’s plenty of denial from both camps on what exactly went wrong — saying the relaysh (sic) is ending amicably, with “love and kindness,” blah blah blah — and we don’t exactly buy it,” they report. “But don’t get all gossip girlie yet. Trust, we heard rumblings that everything wasn’t exactly up to wedding vow snuff with Ry and his oft-canoodling Green Lantern costar. Blake’s a flirt — can you blame her? It’s Ryan Reynolds — but her vice lies in a different department. If that helps you rest easy at night.”
Meanwhile, Us Magazine reports that Ryan is getting over the split by hanging out with an ex. Could it be his last main squeeze, pregnant and married singer Alanis Morissette?
“Ryan has been reaching out to an ex the past few months,” their source said. “Yet it’s purely platonic, the insider insists. “He is seeking comfort, but not in a romantic or sexual way.”
