ESPN has said that its sports evens will be now accessible also to the owners of Microsoft Xbox 360 consoles this year. This deal for the video game console has materialized after negotiations between Microsoft and ESPN two years back.
Microsoft has decided that it will pay a license fee for ESPN3, the broadband sports network of the Walt Disney Company. Now after the deal, the broadband network will be available free for premium subscribers to Xbox’s memberships service called Xbox Live.
But this service will be exclusively provided to Microsoft. This also means that its gaming competitors Sony and Nintendo will not be allowed to carry ESPN3. However, terms of the deal are not made public yet.
