While Firth took home the trophy for his role as a stammering King George VI in “The King’s Speech”, Portman has won the honour for her role in “Black Swan”.
Firth took away the glory from Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”); James Franco (“127 Hours”); Ryan Gosling (“Blue Valentine”) and Mark Wahlberg (“The Fighter”).
Portman on the other hand beat competition from Halle Berry (“Frankie and Alice”); Nicole Kidman (“Rabbit Hole”); Jennifer Lawrence (“Winter’s Bone”) and Michelle Williams (“Blue Valentine”).
