Bad news, “Glee” fans … you’ll be getting a little less music and drama this season.
FOX has cut “Glee” Season 5 down from 22 episodes to 20 episodes, per The Hollywood Reporter. This is the first time that the network has decided to air less of the musical dramedy.
The official reason for the two episode cut is because of the production hiatus the cast and crew took after series star Cory Monteith’s sudden death. The show’s ratings have also been in decline; recent episodes have hovered around a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49.
Now, this isn’t any cause for alarm, “Glee” fans. FOX has already renewed the series for Season 6 (which will be its final one) so this won’t affect the future of the show. It just means there will be two fewer episodes this season. There’s also a chance the two episodes could be added to the final season.
“Glee” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
