Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin have separated. The GOOP founder announced the news on her lifestyle website, writing that they “love each other very much” but have decided to “consciously uncouple.”
Paltrow, 41, and the Coldplay frontman, 37, have two children together, Apple and Moses Martin, and recently moved to Los Angeles after years of living in London.
It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.

“I think that if the idea of being committed to someone is important to you, you begin to value certain parts of your social life over another,” she told Refinery29.com.
“No couple is the same, and as such, every couple takes on different challenges. I would like to think that I would be forgiving and/or forgiven, but I can’t give an honest answer as I haven’t really experienced that.”
The separation comes on the heels of their purchase of a $ 14 million Malibu house and they already own a lavish estate in the Pacific Palisades, Calif.
