Gwyneth Paltrow has confirmed that she’s been offered a role in the upcoming movie adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages.
The show, which features songs from artists including Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, and Poison, is set for a cinematic makeover with Alec Baldwin in talks to join the project. The film tells the story of a young couple in Los Angeles through the medium of ’80s rock music. Tom Cruise is reported to be in negotiations for the role of bad-guy rock singer Stacee Jaxx in the film adaptation of the Tony favorite, while hip-hop/soul hitmaker Mary J. Blige is also in chats to come aboard the project as club owner Justice Charlier.
No word on what role Gwyn’s been offered, but the Oscar winner says she’s weighing her options.
“It sounds cool. I just got the script and I will read it on the plane home tomorrow. But it sounds like it could be fun,” says Gwyneth, who showed off her vocal prowess starring as singer Kelly Canter in Country Song.
