High-wire act gets high ratings for ABC

Nik Wallenda’s high-wire walk over Niagara Falls propelled ABC to a big win Friday. The net easily dominated in total viewers (8.7 million) and adults 18-49 (2.1 rating/8 share).
It was ABC’s most-watched Friday since November 2007.

During the 8 o’clock hour, ABC’s Countdown to Niagara: The Greatest Megastunts of All Time led in viewers (5.7 million) and 18-49 (1.2/5). From 9-11 p.m., the actual stunt was the No. 1 TV program overall in viewers (10.1 million) and 18-49 (2.5/9).
