The house where Kevin McCallister swung his burglar-besting pain cans has been taken off the market.

Back in May, the sprawling booby-trapped home from 1990′s “Home Alone” went up for sale for a cool $ 2.4 million. (Hands on cheeks!)

The 14 bedroom/3.2 bath home boasts more than a terrifying basement and booby-trapped accoutrements — the Georgian mansion is situated just north of Chicago, on a half-acre of land, a stone’s throw from Lake Michigan.

Unfortunately, even the image of a blissful pizza-eating Macaulay Culkin wasn’t able to win over buyers. The McCallister home sold for 1.58 million.

Could have been the tarantula or scary basement?
