The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is set to hike fees once again.
The decision was taken at the annual governing council’s meeting at the campus on Saturday, before the convocation function of 424 students of the current batch.
“The fees will be hiked in keeping with the inflationary tendencies of this year, after a careful analysis. The inflation touched 20 per cent and the food inflation is now at 10 to 12 per cent and our increase would be on similar lines to account for the inflation,” said Prof Jajoo, Dean, IIM-A.
In 2008, IIM-A had more than doubled its fees from Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh and last year, by Rs 1 lakh for two years. The fees for PGP-PMP course were also hiked from Rs 12 lakh in 2008-09 to Rs 20 lakh in 2009-10.
