Live from New York…It could have been Jennifer Aniston!

Aniston turned down a chance to become a series regular on NBC’s long-running sketch comedy hit Saturday Night Live, instead deciding to accept the part of Rachel Green on a then-unknown little sitcom called Friends. During an appearance on Wednesday’s Oprah, SNL alum Adam Sandler, Jen’s co-star in the new romantic-comedy Just Go With It, revealed the little known fact that Aniston was once approached by SNL’s longtime producer Lorne Michaels.

“We wanted Aniston to be on the show with us and I remember… seeing Jen come in. I was like, ‘Oh my God, there’s Aniston; is she about to be on our show?’ I was like, ‘I’m gonna be working with Aniston,’ and then she said no: ‘She’s gonna do that Friends; what the hell is Friends?’”

“Yeah, you know, I had this show ‘Friends’ coming up and I thought, ‘Yeah, ‘Saturday Night Live?’ But they thought I was making a huge mistake.” Jennifer recalled.

Friends ran for 10 seasons after premiering in the Fall of 1994. The multi-Emmy Award-winning show remains one of the most-successful in the history of American television.
