A 21-year-old Chinese woman who was planning a painful plastic surgery makeover to win back her Jessica Alba-obsessed ex has called off the surgery. The young woman, known only as Xiaoqing, says she’s no longer desperate to look more like the Sin City actress.

After surgeons in Shanghai offered to perform the cosmetic overhaul for free, a concerned Jessica reached out to the girl and pleaded with her not to change her appearance.

“I think you should never have to change yourself like that. If somebody loves you, they’ll love you no matter what.”

The appeal seems to have worked. Xiaoqing has finally moved on from her former flame and thanks Alba for having enough heart to care about her plight.

“I am really appreciative for her concern and persuasion,” she says. “During my final decision making her words have played a quite important role. I feel I am actually cared and loved by a lot of people, and I am not only living for just one person.”

The unnamed man who bought Xiaoqing a blonde wig to wear out in public and insisted that she wear her makeup like Jessica’s has since “disappeared.”

“My mother was strongly against me doing that, but the most important reason is my boyfriend disappeared so it’s meaningless to do plastic surgery anymore. My boyfriend disappeared since this Chinese New Year, February 14th, the same day as Valentine’s Day. I looked for him for a long time, but couldn’t find him anymore.”

Xiaoqing believes the media attention may have contributed to the demanding ex’s disappearance.
