“Love don’t cost a thing,” Jennifer Lopez once sang (or squeaked, depending on who’s telling the story…) But that’s certainly not the case for Hot Hollywood couple Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene. The smitten boy bander recently plopped down five figures on a purebred pooch for the Twilight stunner.

A squeal tells Life & Style Magazine: “Ashley wanted the most expensive miniature English bulldog, so Joe bought it for her — setting him back $12,000!”

News of the pricey purchase hardly comes as a surprise to those who know Joe and his girlfriend of more than eight months. Loose-lipped insiders in-the-know say Jonas is notorious for breaking the bank on high-end must-haves for his raven-haired love.

Hmm….The lyrics to T-Pain’s “I’m Sprung” springs to mind…

Just last month, Joe forked over fistfuls of cash during a whirlwind shopping spree in The Big Apple. Jonas picked up the tab as Ashley sprinted between Saks Fifth Avenue, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Louis Vuitton, stocking up on enough designer apparel to make a supermodel blush.

Now that sounds like our kind of shopping trip.
