PEOPLE Magazine’s Care Factor? Zero!

Nicole was so desperate to keep her wedding photos exclusive, she confiscated cellphones at the ceremony , but it looks like PEOPLE didn’t care that much after all. The magazine, which is honoring the year’s 25 Most Influential People, reserved the cover spot for its Woman of the Year, Oscar winner Sandra Bullock.

Nicole used to have no trouble getting a PEOPLE cover story. The publication gave her three covers when she talked about her babies, Harlow and Sparrow, but when she finally tied the knot with baby daddy and beau of four years Joel Madden, her wedding exclusive seemed to clash with their big end-of-year “Best of 2010″ special. Must have been a blow, particularly considering she didn’t get the asking price for the pics either!

“Nicole hungered to see her wedding photos on a national magazine cover,” a source told OK! Magazine, who reportedly lost a bidding war to PEOPLE for the rights to the images. “But no one would match her price. In the end, she was asking $100,000 for just one photo! Nicole was clearly very paranoid about getting the best possible deal for the photos. It was a big deal to her right up until the last moment.”

A guest at her wedding blabbed that the actual wedding ceremony — which featured a grand entrance by a two ton elephant and was officiated by hip-hop pioneer Rev. Run — was cheapened when Nicole asked her guests to ditch their phones to protect her mag exclusive.

“She was obviously trying to protect her paycheck, but it ruined the mood because it seemed like she didn’t trust anyone.”
