Transformers actor Josh Duhamel was kicked off a flight from Queens to Kentucky on Thursday after refusing to turn off his cellphone.
Duhamel, the husband of Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, was on a plane at New York’s LaGuardia Airport this week when a flight attendant reportedly asked him to switch off his BlackBerry phone for takeoff.
A passenger said Duhamel was “very rude” and “taunted the attendant,” TMZ scooped on Friday. Another source yaps that Duhamel was asked to switch off his phone three times and on the last occasion he laughed at the flight attendant. The flight attendant reportedly became infuriated and alerted other staff to the situation, prompting the plane to be turned back to the gate. Duhamel, who is also well known for his role on NBC’s now-defunct drama Las Vegas, was escorted from the plane by two US Airways representatives.
Before the incident, Duhamel was reportedly relaxing in the airport bar and watching a sports game on television.
The actor’s spokesperson said he had been sending text messages on the phone and was sorry his behavior delayed the flight. Uh-Huh….The plane had been running late when as it prepared for takeoff and Duhamel had been texting to alert contacts in Kentucky of that news, according to his rep.
