The sharp-tongued jurist defeated Oprah in the ratings last season to become the number one series in daytime, Yahoo! News said Friday.
Judge Judy Sheindlin’s courtroom drama, now in its 15th season, averaged 6.3 million daily viewers between Sept. 2009 – May 2010, compared with 5.7 million for Oprah longrunning talk show, according to Nielsen figures released this month.
Judge Judy has become the first series to dethrone The Oprah Winfrey Show — now in its final season — as daytime TV’s most-watched show.
It was Judge Judy that defeated O the last time too.
Judge Judy has been renewed through 2012.
