Actress Juliette Lewis will spend the next several days “resting at home” after a chauffeured Lincoln Town Car the actress had been traveling in was “broadsided by a hit and run driver” in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
A rep for the star says the accident occurred as Lewis “was leaving an event for her new film Conviction,” which also stars Hilary Swank, Sam Rockwell, Minnie Driver, Melissa Leo, and Drew Smith.
Lewis, 37, was briefly hospitalized, but is expected to recover.
“The sedan Juliette was traveling in was completely totaled. Ms Lewis went to the hospital to be checked out and is a bit banged up and sore, but otherwise thankfully okay. She is now resting at home,” Lewis’ rep adds.
The hunt is on for the driver of the second vehicle.
