Could a Chris Brown and Justin Bieber duet be debuting the near future? Yep. According to the often trouble-prone R&B/pop singer, the two heartthrobs have joined forces for a new song set to premiere early next year.
Brown announced his team-up with 16-year-old Bieber on Twitter on Dec. 25, writing: “ME and @justinbieber got a BANGER/SMASH record for all the fans out there at the top of the NEW YEAR!!!”
Brown did not, however, specify whether the single would appear on his forthcoming album or Justin’s. Bieber hinted at a possible duet with Brown in October, Tweeting this message: “Kinda hyped rt now. for a new single teamed up with one of my friends and an artist I used to sing covers of on youtube” and linking to a video of himself in his pre-fame days, singing Brown’s “With You.”
There’s been no official comment yet from Bieber’s camp about the collaboration, which would be Brown’s most high-profile since he plead guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, nearly two years ago. Brown completed a court-ordered domestic violence course on Dec. 20. The “Forever” hitmaker will debut “Look At Me Now,” the lead single from his forthcoming album, F. A. M. E., on New Year’s Day.
Last week, Bieber and award-winning country group Rascal Flatts confirmed that they would collaborate on a song for Bieber’s next pop album.
