On Wednesday, Kanye West went on a Twitter rampage against The TODAY Show’s Matt Lauer, claiming Matt’s interview was “brutal” and that Matt “tried to force” answers out of him as he grilled him about former President Bush.

Tre’touchy!

West now admits he “didn’t have the grounds” to say that Bush’s deplorable response to organizing relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina indicated that the then-president “didn’t care about Black people;” but the rapper is livid at the direction of his interview with Lauer.

“I would tell George Bush in my moment of frustration that I didn’t have the grounds to call him a racist. But I believe that in a situation of high emotion, like that, we as human beings don’t always choose the right words,” a curt and visibly angry Yeezy remarked in his seven-minute TODAY interview, which aired on Thursday.

Kanye — who is promoting his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, dropping Nov. 22 — became especially agitated when producers ran a clip of his infamously storming the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs.

“Yo, how am I supposed to talk, if you’re going to run this thing in the middle while I’m talking….Please don’t let that happen again!”

West wasted no time flipping into Full Rant Mode on TODAY via his Twitter page:

“While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the ‘MTV’ under me with audio!!!!!!!” the “Flashing Lights” star fired off. “I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the ‘Today’ Show … and that’s a very nice way for me to put it! … HE TRIED TO FORCE MY ANSWERS. IT WAS VERY BRUTAL AND I CAME THERE WITH ONLY POSITIVE INTENT.”

“We stand by what happened in this interview,” Matt told viewers during this morning’s broadcast.

Tell us what you think? Did Lauer cross the line in his questioning of Kanye?
