Karachi, Pakistan’s commercial capital prepares to combat cyclone Phet, which is about to hit the coastal areas of the city after it has already showed disruptions and caused damages in other coastal parts of the country. The cyclone is 900 kilometers away from the city.
Meteorologists have warned the people in the city to be prepared for the cyclone as it is gaining momentum in Sindh province. It has been confirmed that 150 fishing trawlers and boats are missing and they have lost control with the Navel control room.
The department had warned the people against going to the open sea and asked to come back soon. Forecast of heavy rains and thunderstorms as well as tidal waves are there if cyclone hits the coastal areas.
