Let the record show: Two of Jon & Kate Gosselin’s brood have been exhibiting anger issues related to their parents’ high-profile divorce last year, but there’s no truth to tabloid rumors claiming that sextuplets Collin and Alexis, 6, were booted from their Pennsylvania private school for acting out.
The Original Octomom appeared on NBC’s TODAY to once again shoot down the expulsion reports, which first surfaced last month.
“They were having anger issues,” Gosselin said. “They were acting out, having behavior things. Things that are — I’ve talked to other moms going through divorces — very normal, normal stuff in that regard. So I did what I could do. (The school and I) mutually agreed. I brought them home. I have them with a private tutor, an early education teacher. She is teaching them one on one, and they are excelling, along with weekly therapy.”
The Plus 8 matriarch furthered explained: “[Collin] was upset and saying things out of frustration – he’d crumple his papers and throw them on the floor. Alexis was angry in a different way. She didn’t want to sit still. She’d get up and want to run around.”

Kate says she spoke with school administrators who “mutually agreed” to remove the children from the classroom to be homeschooled for the remainder of the school year.
“I brought them home, I have them with a private tutor… and they are excelling along with weekly therapy,” she said. “My kids are back. They’re happy, they’re functioning, they’re well and all is well again.”
Gosselin also spoke to TODAY’s Meredith Vieira about her relationship with Jon, with whom she endured a public split in 2009.
“I have never personally been apologized to. I don’t consider an interview on TV or [in] a tabloid as an apology, unfortunately….Strangely, the holidays have always been something we’ve worked out peacefully,” Kate told Meredith of her interaction with Jon. “I always approach it [as] the kids need to see both of us, if not together, on the holidays. It’s an understanding that we always split the holidays. The kids have done a few holidays now and so they know that this is what they need to do… they’re very happy to spend time with both of us.”
When it comes to contacting her ex to set up any arrangements, things can get a little tricky.
“It depends on the day, depends on the hour,” Kate said, when asked if she is able to call Jon directly. “I always reach out to him first, as far as trying to do it in the normal manner and I do it amicably and with the best interest of the kids in mind. And when I approach him, I try to think of the old days. You know, write him an e-mail, give him a call and try to talk to him the same way we always have talked. My goal is always to do it peacefully,” she added.
