Doing anything New Year’s Eve?
….Neither is Kathy Griffin.
The off-color fat jibe the Emmy-winning comedienne made about teen abstinence advocate Bristol Palin at VH1′s Divas Special last weekend has left Kathy with more than just a red face and resounding boos from US troops: She’s out of a job.
Griffin’s reportedly out of contention to return as a correspondent on CNN’s annual New Year’s Eve Countdown; this after officials at the media organization watched in disgust as she ripped the daughter of political barracuda Sarah Palin during VH1′s concert special.
Kathy got herself blacklisted from the liberal-leaning news network after she hurled an F-Bomb at a Times Square heckler while hosting last year’s special with CNN news guy Anderson Cooper. In recent weeks, CNN execs — confident that Kathy had finally learned a lesson is zipping her loose-lips — had been considering inviting the Bravo reality personality to provide some of her signature sassy commentary as the world awaits the arrival of 2011. Of course, that was before the Divas debacle. After watching Kathy taunt Bristol, 20, in front of an audience filled with members of the Armed Forces, the “Most Trusted Name in News” is sending its Silver Fox (That would be Anderson…) back into the field without the redhead.
“CNN executives were considering giving her another chance. That was until her Bristol weight comment a few days ago that reminded everyone exactly why they had barred her in the first place.”
