Katy Perry’s hosting job at this weekend’s Teen Choice Awards saw her borrow a little comic flair from hubby-to-be Russell Brand. Good thing she was laughing — her disgruntled ex was in the house.

Gym Class Heroes star Travis McCoy was at the event to perform his new single Billionaire” — in the midst of reports Katy dissed him hard in a song from her new album, calling him a “joke” who would rather take drugs than work at his career.

The pop singer dated McCoy on and off throughout 2008 while McCoy was the lead singer of the band Gym Class Heroes.

Perry and McCoy broke up in early 2009. She is now engaged to Russell Brand, an admitted former heroin addict.

The “California Gurls” singer blasts the Gym Class Heroes frontman for his drug abuse on the new track ‘Circle the Drain, featured on Perry’s eagerly-anticipated third album, Teenage Dream.

Perry told Billboard Magazine she channeled Alanis Morissette for the song: “It’s kind of like my ‘You Oughta Know,’ Alanis Morissette moment.”

McCoy has struggled with an addiction to pharmaceuticals since his teens, and even spoke about his stint in rehab on his blog, Traviesblog.com, two years ago.
