The Lady proved unstoppable in 2010 with Gaga and her Fame Monster album becoming the biggest selling album of 2010…worldwide.

The extended version of her original 2008 debut The Fame managed to clock up a whopping six million copies sold in the last 12 months according to the United World Chart, a list compiled using a bunch of international sources. Only this year’s Grammy frontrunner Eminem came close with his comeback disc Recovery, which sold 5.7 million copies. Canadian teen singing sensation Justin Bieber came in third with 5.6 million sales of his hit album My World.

Gaga gushed on her Twitter page about how “excited” she is about the announcement.

“’The Fame Monster’ was named the best-selling album of 2010! I’m so excited for the future, believe + work hard, you will achieve your dreams (sic),” the “Poker Face” singer wrote.

The Grammy winner also revealed her fans should check back in at midnight on New Year’s Eve to hear a special announcement about her eagerly-awaited disc, Born This Way.
