It’s back to The Big House for drug-addicted ex-child star Lindsay Lohan.
Following Lohan’s Friday night admission that she failed a pair of court-administered drug tests mere weeks after spending a month in jail and rehab, Judge Elden Fox has issued a bench warrant for the actress’ arrest that will take effect the moment Lohan sets foot inside the Beverly Hills Courthouse for a mandatory hearing this Friday, Sept. 24.
According to TMZ.com: “Although the bench warrant was issued, it’s being held — i.e., on hold — until Friday at 8:30 AM, when Lindsay is ordered to appear in court. The move by Judge Elden Fox comes after TMZ’s story … that Lindsay failed two drug tests recently … one showed the presence of cocaine and another showed amphetamines. The probation report — outlining the failed tests — was just filed with the court.”
After the story of her failed drug tests broke in the press last Friday afternoon, Lindsay took to Twitter to admit her mistake:
“Regretably, I did, in fact, fail my most recent drug test. Substance abuse is a disease which unfortunately doesn’t go away overnight. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day….I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future. This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences.”
Lohan’s relapse couldn’t come at a more dire time, informants say. We hear the starlet’s mooching family has been on the verge of financial ruin since Lindsay’s career sprawled out of control in 2007, following use of drug and alcohol abuse.
“Lindsay is in serious trouble financially. Dina is struggling to make ends meet and pay Lindsay’s lawyers and this latest development doesn’t help things. Everyone thinks the Lohan family is so well-off, but if they knew the truth, it would be shocking. She’s in a tight spot, the family’s in a tight spot. It’s really a very sad situation,” on Lohan spy yapped in a RadarOnline.com report on Monday.
Lindsay was photographed attending two AA meetings last weekend. Lohan served two weeks in jail in August followed by 22 days of a three-month residential drug rehab program after violating her probation on a 2007 drunken driving and cocaine conviction. Following her release from rehab, Lohan was ordered to undergo random twice weekly drug tests and counseling. She was also warned by a Beverly Hills judge that any positive results would see her back in jail for 30 days.
