Madame Tussauds Wax Museums across the globe will pay homage to late music icon Michael Jackson on the first anniversary of his death by hosting a special tribute exhibit of all wax statues of the “Thriller” hitmaker at its nine international locations — from Shanghai to New York.
Madame Tussauds says its studio artists will position Jackson’s wax figures in the attraction’s lobbies, touch up the makeup, style its hair and prepare its outfit for a free Michael Jackson Tribute Exhibit running June 23 through July 7.
The original hand mold from the 1986 sitting from which Tussauds’ studio artists created MJ’s likeness will be on display at Madame Tussauds’ NYC location.
“With a medley of Jackson’s signature songs wafting through Madame Tussauds’ lobby, fans will be able to pay their respects, take photos with his wax likeness and lay flowers at his feet. The tribute exhibit will also include a variety of classic MJ photos and memorabilia,” chiefs with the popular tourist attraction said in a press release issued Tuesday.
