After two years of marriage, Marc Anthony and Shannon De Lima have separated.

As three sources confirmed to E! News, the couple recently split. Back in 2014, the 48-year-old Grammy winner married the 28-year-old Venezuelan model in a private ceremony in the Dominican Republic after secretly getting engaged months earlier.

Anthony and De Lima started dating in early 2012, about five months after he and ex-wife Jennifer Lopez announced their separation after seven years of marriage. The musician made the romance known when he called De Lima his “statue of liberty” on social media.

However, a year later, the singer’s rep confirmed to E! News that the new pair had called it quits. “The amicable breakup became official right in mid-January,” his rep said in 2013.

Fast forward to October 2014, they were back to kissing in Anthony’s music video for “Flor Pálida” and a month later, they were husband and wife.

In mid-September, De Lima took to Instagram to celebrate her partner’s birthday, calling him the “best husband.”

“Happy birthday papi bello!!!! Gracias por compartir la vida conmigo… Y por ser el mejor esposo y amigo que alguien puede desear!!!!!” she captioned a photo of them together. In English, the message translates to, “Thank you for sharing your life with me…and for being the best husband and friend someone could wish for.”

This separation marks the third for the latin star, who was previously married to Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres and subsequently Jennifer Lopez. Anthony shares two sons, Cristian and Ryan, with Torres and twins Emme and Max with Lopez.

The news comes on the heels of his surprise liplock with Lopez, who broke up with boyfriend Casper Smart in August, on the Latin Grammy Award stage Thursday night.

After performing their new duet, “Olvídame y Pega la Vuelta,” the pop star presented her former beau with the Person of the Year Award and embraced him in a kiss, sending the crowd into a roar of applause.

De Lima was noticeably missing from the award ceremony and Anthony was not wearing his wedding ring.

It was also recently announced that Anthony’s Magnus Media and Sony Music Latin made a deal with Lopez and they will be developing and producing her upcoming Spanish-language album for release this month.
