AC Slater’s a dad! Eighties/Nineties teen heartthrob Mario Lopez — former PEOPLE Magazine “Sexiest Man Alive” and beloved as the womanizing owner of two of the world’s best known dimples — is celebrating fatherhood after welcoming daughter Gia Francesca Lopez in Burbank, California on Saturday.
Little Gia is the first tyke for Mario, 36, and his girlfriend Courtney Mazza, 28. The couple began dating two years ago after co-starring in the hit Broadway musical A Chorus Line.
“We are so overjoyed. What an amazing, wonderful and overwhelming experience to welcome our daughter into the world,” the Extra host said in a statement to fans.
VH1 is set to air a reality show featuring the former Saved by the Bell star and his companion as they prepared for Gia’s debut. Just a day before his daughter’s arrival, Mario Tweeted the following message to fans: “They want to call the VH1 show Mario Lopez: Saved by the Baby. Makes me laugh when I say it out loud which is good since the show’s funny. What do you guys think about that title?”
Lopez says he may write a book and create a reality TV show about parenting.
