The film that catapulted Lindsay Lohan to teen superstardom being given a new lease on life — and a pair of sequels could pop up your Netflix queue in the months to come.
Although Movie Buffs are still waiting on an official announcement from Paramount Pictures, two follow-ups to the 2003 teen comedy Mean Girls are reportedly in the works, with one sequel set to go into production in Atlanta later this summer!
Paramount Famous Productions — which released the straight-to-DVD release Van Wilder: Freshman Year — is working on Mean Girls 2.
In addition, screenwriters Dara and Chad Creasey have been commissioned the pen the screenplay to Mean Moms a comedy about a “happily married mother of two who moves from small town America to the high class suburbs and is faced with confronting the cut throat world of competitive parenting.”
None of the characters from the original film will appear in either of the proposed sequels.
