Best musical Tony Award has gone to the American rock ‘n’ roll story Memphis, while British production ‘Red’ was adjudged as best play on Sunday night.

Catheine Zeta Jones was also awarded a Tony for a musical for A Little Night Music. Film actore Denzel Washington as well as Viola Davis was the best actor and actress for their portrayal of married couple of 1950s.

First time in the history of the Tony awards that black performers won best actor and best actress in a play and that too in the same season. The award ceremony had all the celebrities from the film, television and music.
