Ever looked at a major red carpet (like the Oscars, or Monday’s Met Gala) and think to yourself, “Gee, I’d love to buy that!”?

Well, you’re usually out of luck, because the outfits are frequently custom-made and fitted just for the lucky star wearing the look.

But this Met Gala was all about bucking tradition, and it’s done just that by providing plenty of outlets to pick up a few of your own choice designer duds — provided you’ve got the cash, of course.

Moda Operandi, which sponsored the Met Gala, has a limited number of looks available to shop directly from the red carpet, from Taylor Swift’s J. Mendel gown to Gisele Bündchen’s Anthony Vaccarello mini (warning: recommended only if you have Gisele’s legs). But if you’re really looking to spend like a star, you can nab Kate Bosworth’s Balmain dress for a cool $ 26K here.

If you were hoping to save on the dress (and spend your remaining $ 25,000 on jewelry, naturally), you can also pick up one of the custom Topshop designs worn by Nicole Richie, Julianne Hough and Ashley Madekwe (above left) at prices ranging from $ 630 to $ 1,050. They won’t be available in time for prom, but savvy shoppers can snap them up in September on the Topshop site or one of the company’s flagship stores.

Don’t want to wait that long? Burberry’s N.Y.C. store has a limited number of studded jackets (à la Sienna Miller, above right) and spiked heels in honor of the Met Gala. Just add your own punk tiara (Miller’s amazing hair not included).

On the accessory front, there are plenty of places to pick up items seen on last night’s red carpet, from Jennifer Lawrence’s $ 182 Jennifer Behr “Voilette” birdcage veil; to Olivia Wilde’s $ 68 Iwona Ludyga Design “Tribe Beaded Flag” bracelet; to Emily Blunt’s $ 825 Rupert Sanderson heels (in pink, to match her eyeshadow!)

Tell us: Would you ever splurge on a designer look straight from the red carpet? Which of these do you most want to own?
